ChiCk WeeK

A few years back my aunts & cousins from the valley would all come up for a week in the summer and we would do craft projects. We started calling it "Chick Week" and it was so much fun! We would also take time to go to lunch and all of the kids had a good time just running around outside playing with each other. The tradition fizzled out after everyone started having more kids and the kids were growing up and having kids of their own. Well this year my mom, sister and my sisters-in-law decided we would bring chick week back! We worked our little hearts out on all of our projects and had such a good time. I ended up getting 4 tied quilts done of my own, with the help of everyone else, of course. Traci did lots of cute baby room decorations since she knows what she is having and already has his name picked out. Jack is going to have quite the adorable room and she made a quilt and burp cloths for him too! Mom made a block quilt for little Jack that is so cute. Sherry doesn't know what she is having yet so she made some little fleece blankets that could go for a boy or a girl. Tara is always crafty and did some things with pictures of her kids and made the cutest skirt for her little girl. Brooke made bows for her little girls that were adorable too. Jacque & Brooke were wanting to make magnet boards but weren't able to get the frames done in time to work on them for this week so they came and helped us with all of our projects we were doing. We all just had a great time spending time together with just the girls (and the kids of course.) :) Papa got a new load of sand for the sand box and grandma bought lots of sand toys. So between that, the trampoline and popsicles the kids were in heaven!
As always my batteries were dead in my camera when I went to take pictures one day and then by the time I remembered to put new ones in it was the last minute of the last day and Brooke, Jacque & Sherry were already gone. We sure had a great time though and hopefully we will keep the tradition going!

K when I move home, I think your family should adopt me into chick week. It sure sounds like a fun time. The quilts turned out so cute.

This tradition is a keeper. Hopefully I learn to sew better... or at least figure out how to take stitches out faster before next year!

Chick Week sounds like it was such a blast! What a great tradition. You girls should definitely keep that going. :) I'm jealous of all your talent. I want some to rub off on me!
