Christmas 2009

Christmas has come and gone again and we had so much fun spending lots of time with our families. The season goes by so quickly and we are all so busy that is doesn't seem like we really get to enjoy it but it will be here again before we know it!

On Christmas Eve we went to the Turley party first and had a yummy dinner and ate way too much! The kids got to play Christmas songs on grandma's chimes and they thought that was pretty cool. Sometimes we had to use our imagination to figure out which song they were playing so we started singing along to make it more recognizable.

They also got to break a pinata...that is always a hit! They all came away with TONS of candy. Even Stockton got to have a turn hitting it.

Later that night we went to the Mills party and grandma made our annual fabulous knock-knock (egg nog) shakes, yum!!! The kids all drew names among each other and got to open their presents. Kanton's reaction to his gift was priceless! He got a tractor and trailer and giggled when he opened it. It was so cute! Brig got airplanes and Stockton got a toy MP3 player. The adults all had a white elephant gift exchange and that is always fun to see what we all end up with! It was lots of fun but we sure missed Marcus, Traci & Jack and Russ, Tara, Jensen & Layton at the party!

After both parties we were tired and had to get home so Santa could come. Brig had written cute little letters to Santa for him and his brothers and left them out with cookies and milk and they all headed to bed. I was sure Brig and Kanton would be so excited and wake up way too early but we ended up having to wake them up about 6:30 so we could go see what Santa brought with the flashlight before the sun came up.

Brig got his HUGE tackle box and a cool new fishing pole and Kanton got his bike and tractor. Stockton got some noisy toys and clothes but mostly he just liked the wrapping paper and bows! They were all thrilled.

Grandma Mills made us a fab breakfast Christmas morning and we all got to open more presents there. Then we headed back over to the Turleys to do a white elephant gift exchange with them. We all got tons of good stuff for Christmas!! Later on we went back over to eat a turkey dinner with the Mills side. We never went hungry that's for sure!

Christmas was great and we enjoyed remembering what the true meaning is. It is wonderful to have so much family around to spend the holidays with!

What a darling family, Hallie! Looks like Santa was good to you all this year! And I've never heard of the traditional egg nog shake...you'll have to share!

It looks like you guys had an awesome December and a great Christmas! I was thinking my Christmas was busy and crazy-but to read about yours-seems as though you never stopped, but I'm sure it was a lot of fun!

I love that picture by the tree. Kanton's face in it is priceless. We are sad we didn't get to go to the party. Next year though I am all over those knock knock shakes.

You guys were some busy folks on Christmas!
