Spring Break

We started our spring break early since we had to go to the valley for Stockton's appointment with the doctor. Brig & Kanton were so excited to go stay at grandma & papa's house. (minus papa, we missed you!) Grandma brought the boys down in her car and took them swimming first thing. They LOVED it! Both of them love to swim and talked about going for days. I think they swam about 5 times while we were there.

We took the kids to Peter Piper Pizza to let them play games and win tickets for some really marvelous toys! :) They were in heaven once again.

The last night we were there we had a BBQ with the fam and had such a good time.

Stockton's appointment went well. The doctor said that his lungs sounded clear and thought that his oxygen level was low due to the congestion in his nose. She didn't want to do any testing on him if this was the reason it was still low because it would involve sedating him, drawing blood & starving him for 8 hours. So they got us set up with an oxymeter (tests his oxygen level) at home so we can test him several times a day. They are having us try to slowly wean him off of the oxygen for the next 3-4 weeks and if that works that will be great. If it doesn't we will take him back down at the end of 4 weeks and start more tests. So far he has been able to wean down to a smaller amount of oxygen during the day and I have even been able to take him off completely for about 4 hours on two different days. It is a little bit of an improvement at least. When he is completely just breathing room air only during the day the doctor is having a test set up to test his level at night so they can get a constant reading for about 8 hours. The oxygen level is always lower while sleeping so they want to test him really good before he completely comes off at night. So we are basically just doing the same thing as before but it is nice to be able to test him at home now. The pulmonologist and nurses there were so thorough and spent about 2 hours with us. It made us feel good to know we have a Plan A, Plan B, etc. if weaning his oxygen doesn't work.

Sounds like you had a fun Spring Break! I am sorry to hear that Stockton still can't come off the oxygen but hopefully be summer it will be a thing of the past. Kyler was taking about 30 minutes also-I don't remember my other kids taking so long. Time seems to go on forever but in the last few weeks he has been a little faster.
